Eskawata Kayawai
Set in Novo Futuro, a remote Huni Kuin village in the Brazilian Amazon, this project documents a community rebuilding its future through the recovery of language, ritual and ancestral knowledge. The photographs explore how cultural identity, collective life and care for the forest remain deeply interconnected.
Selected by PhotoVogue Italia and awarded the FNAC Prize 2026, the project has been exhibited internationally and published by Atmos, Imagine5 and SLIMI.
The photographs accompany the documentary Eskawata Kayawai, created in collaboration with the Huni Kuin people and directed by Lara Jacoski and Patrick Belem. Discover the full project at eskawatafilm.com.
