Since 2022, I have been documenting a group of young people from Maceda, Galicia, who participate in Entroido, an ancestral masked winter tradition shared across the Galicia–Northern Portugal cultural region. Through the figure of the Felo, the project explores youth, identity, belonging, and the evolving role of tradition in communities shaped by rural depopulation.
The work follows not only the celebration itself but also the friendships, preparation, and everyday moments that reveal how a new generation is preserving and quietly redefining, a centuries-old cultural heritage.
